Rules

Contest Type: Onsite / Individual

Contest Duration: 2.5 hours

Eligibility: All NYU students and alumni are eligible to compete.

Scoring: The NYU ProgNova contest uses standard ICPC World Finals rules except that contestants will compete individually and the contest duration is shorter.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded separately for contestants who are eligible for ICPC. Note that NYU alumni may compete but are not eligible for prizes.

For ICPC eligible participants:

1st Place $50 Amazon Gift Card + Competitive Programming Book
2nd Place $30 Amazon Gift Card + Competitive Programming Book
3rd Place $20 Amazon Gift Card + Competitive Programming Book

Contest Platform: CodeChef

Programming Languages: C/C++/Java/Python 2.7

Computing Environment: Each contestant shall bring one laptop of his/her own to compete. There are no restrictions on the local installation of software, including compiler, coding IDE, custom scripts, etc. Source code stored locally on the laptop may be accessed and used during the contest. Each contestant may additionally bring paper materials to the contest site, including books, printed source code, etc. Internet access other than interacting with the contest website and solution judge is not allowed during the contest.
